Our Story

The Spot was opened in November 2020 by Frank Hanes and Leanna Carlson.

Frank Hanes attended culinary school in Italy, and finished his education at Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. Frank has worked in restaurants across the country for 13 years, and was the CDC at the U.S.'s first Michelin-rated Moroccan restaurant. Leanna started her career in the industry starting as a hostess, and working her way through serving, bartending, and up into management and administration. After meeting through work, Frank and Leanna decided to venture out on their own and the idea for The Spot was born.

Patrick Dale Joined the team January 2021. A former coworker of Frank and Leanna's, Patrick made a 1,600 mile move

We like to reinterpret classic flavor combinations and use local produce and products to create new creative and exciting flavors.

Our Commitment to Zero Waste

We do our best to eliminate food waste however possible. We use only eco-friendly utensils and packaging. We compost all scrap and donate it to Dancing Spirit Ranch for their garden. If we do not sell out, the remaining food is donated to the Veteran's Food Bank.
